Process

How long will you keep my items?

In order to consign items you first must bring the items in, then negotiate a commission rate and price the items (or trust the shop to price the items for you), and then you wait. While the primary steps will take a significant time investment on their own, waiting can be an endless task. Unfortunately, it is almost impossible to anticipate which items buyers will be interested in and some things may simply never sell. Typically the time is 4-6 weeks.

What happens if the item doesn’t sell?

We will provide you with written documentation that outlines your agreement prior to taking in your item(s).  If the item does not sell, the consignment store will follow what is outlined in your agreement with them.  The item is generally donated or returned to you.

Terms

CONSIGNMENT FEE: 50%

CONSIGNMENT  PERIOD: As stated earlier the consignment is typically 4-6 weeks.

Throughout the liquidation process, the items that are not sellable or sold within 4-6 weeks from taking possession will be donated or discarded. If Sort It Out NC employees find anything of a personal nature or memory related within the items to be sold, those articles will be put aside for safe keeping and returned to the Client unless other arrangements are agreed upon.

OTHER FEES: If NC Sort it Out is to pick up your items, there will be a one time pick up fee. .
